Clumber Park Landscapes

Here are a few landscape images I took on a family stroll around Clumber Park a couple of weekends ago. I won’t get all pretentious and say how amazing the light was, in truth the light was a bit weird really. When we first arrived there was white cloud and low lying fine mist that meant colours looked naturally muted and trees across the lake were merely faint outlines. Within a few moments the sun became stronger, breaking through thinner spots in the white cloud, burning through the mist and putting a spotlight on a few trees before disappearing again. As it did this I took a few images on my Canon Powershot S95. As I reviewed them on the back of the camera I felt a little disappointed as they didn’t seem to do justice to what I was seeing. This morning I have done a little post production in Lightroom to get closer to what I remembered seeing that Sunday morning and I have also tried a couple of black and white conversions to see how the faded trees across the lake would look. I also dialled down the exposure for a couple fo shots for a slightly different look. Here are a few of my favourites:
